We are a seed\-stage startup backed by leading investors, building a team of world\-class engineers to create the core of our product and solve some of the most challenging problems in applied AI. **The Role** We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help architect and scale the systems behind our AI\-powered agent. You’ll build performant APIs, orchestrate LLM workflows, manage contextual memory, and ensure low\-latency performance across high\-scale, multi\-tenant environments. This is a high\-impact, hands\-on role. You’ll work closely with our CTO, AI team, and product leads to develop foundational infrastructure for a truly agentic user experience. **What You’ll Do** * Design and implement scalable, low\-latency backend services using Java * Build and maintain APIs that support real\-time agent actions and feature execution * Orchestrate LLM workflows including prompt routing, context injection, and memory management * Develop secure, multi\-tenant APIs for our web application. * Leverage BigQuery, Mongo, Redis, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub for real\-time analytics, caching, and messaging * Ensure observability, traceability, and reliability across agent behaviors and backend systems * Collaborate cross\-functionally with AI, product, and frontend teams to deliver seamless, intelligent user flows **Tech Stack** * Language: Java * Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) * Data \& Messaging: BigQuery, MySQL, Mongo, Redis, Pub/Sub * AI/LLM: OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, LLM orchestration framework, vector DBs * Infra \& Tooling: Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, GCP Cloud Monitoring **What You Bring** * A deep sense of ownership and accountability, the ability to thrive in a fast\-paced, autonomous environment, and the drive to produce high\-quality features end\-to\-end. * 5\+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably in high\-scale, real\-time systems * Deep expertise in Java and backend architecture * Strong expertise in multi\-tenant architecture, system scalability, and security best practices. * Passion for performance, reliability, and building robust systems **Bonus If You Have** * Experience with agentic systems or LLM\-driven user interfaces * Familiarity with LLM integrations and AI workflow orchestration in production environments * Built systems for context\-aware personalization or dynamic workflow execution * Experience with GCP, BigQuery, Redis, Pub/Sub, Mongo, and event\-driven systems * Familiarity with conversational memory, embeddings, or retrieval\-augmented generation (RAG) **Why Join Foldspace?** We’re building one of the first real\-time, agentic systems designed to fundamentally change the way people use software.
