Our work spans frontier AI research, data excellence, and enterprise\-grade system deployment, empowering companies to innovate faster and scale smarter. **Role Overview** We are looking for an experienced Python/FastAPI Development Lead to join an exciting Reinforcement Learning (RL) Gym project. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize scalable APIs, collaborate with ML engineers and researchers, and lead a team in delivering high\-quality backend systems that support reinforcement learning experiments and simulations. ***(Prior RL Gym experience is not mandatory but would be a strong plus.)*** **Key Responsibilities** * Design, build, and maintain FastAPI\-based services for experimentation workflows and simulation environments. * Collaborate with machine learning engineers to expose APIs for training, evaluation, and benchmarking. * Write production\-grade Python code emphasizing scalability, performance, and maintainability. * Lead a team of backend engineers — conduct code reviews, merge PRs, and ensure adherence to engineering standards. * Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize pipelines, and ensure smooth deployment of applications. * Take ownership across the full software development lifecycle, from design to production. **Required Skills \& Experience** * 8\+ years of professional experience in Python development. * 3\+ years of hands\-on expertise with FastAPI for building scalable, high\-performance backend systems. * 4\+ years of team leadership experience managing teams of 5\+ developers. * Proven ability to review, mentor, and deliver maintainable, high\-quality code. * Deep understanding of asynchronous programming, RESTful API design, and scalable architecture patterns. * Solid knowledge of software engineering best practices — automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and version control workflows. * Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, and optionally PyTorch or TensorFlow. * Exposure to Reinforcement Learning (RL) environments such as OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, or Stable Baselines is a plus. * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
