**About Taboo.TV** Taboo.TV is building the home for creators who dare to go beyond the limits of mainstream platforms a premium, uncensored streaming ecosystem where creators own their audience and earn what they deserve. We’re a small, high\-velocity team working on powerful video infrastructure, interactive live experiences, and an AI\-driven content engine. **Role Overview** We’re looking for a **Backend Engineer** with experience in **video processing, transcoding, or streaming platforms** to help us scale the core of Taboo.TV. You’ll work closely with our engineering team on everything from building APIs to optimizing video pipelines, ensuring our creators’ content loads fast, looks great, and runs smoothly around the world. **What You’ll Work On** * Designing and maintaining backend services powering streaming, content management, and real\-time user interactions. * Building and optimizing our **video ingestion and transcoding pipelines** (upload → encode → distribute → playback). * Integrating and tuning **CDN layers** , caching, and adaptive bitrate streaming (HLS/DASH). * Improving video performance, storage, and encoding cost\-efficiency (S3, R2, or custom object storage). * Working alongside our AI and frontend teams to support new product features (AI clipping, interactive streams, etc.). * Implementing security and access control for premium content and creator data. **What We’re Using** (You don’t need to know it all — strong fundamentals matter more.) * **Backend:** Laravel 11, PHP 8, Laravel Reverb (WebSockets), InertiaJS, Vue 3 * **Database:** PostgreSQL, Redis * **Storage:** AWS S3 / Rumble for media * **Queue/Jobs:** Horizon, Supervisor, SQS * **DevOps:** Docker, Nginx, Linux * **Realtime:** WebSockets, Laravel Reverb, Pusher\-like architecture * **Video:** FFmpeg, HLS, Cloudflare Stream or Rumble API integrations
