This is a unique opportunity to make a foundational impact on a next\-generation product. **About the Role** As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will be the technical anchor for their client’s backend infrastructure. You will take full ownership of critical systems, drive architectural decisions, and be instrumental in scaling robust, data\-intensive products. If you are passionate about building from the ground up, solving complex data challenges, and mentoring a team in a high\-velocity environment, this role is for you. **Key Responsibilities** * **Architect \& Build:** Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable backend services and APIs. * **Data Pipeline Innovation:** Architect and build reliable systems to ingest, normalize, and enrich data from thousands of diverse sources, leveraging advanced techniques like LLM\-driven data enrichment. * **Drive Product Vision:** Develop the technical foundation for new AI\-powered tools that will automate and transform workflows for investors and brokers. * **Modernize Systems:** Spearhead the transition from monolithic architectures to a modern, event\-driven microservices model to enable faster development and clearer system abstractions. * **Mentor \& Elevate:** Collaborate with engineering leadership to establish best practices, improve code quality, and mentor and grow other engineers on the team. * **Strategic Partnership:** Work closely with product managers and company leadership to translate business priorities into a cohesive technical roadmap. Qualifications \& Experience * Proven minimum experience of 6\+ years as a Backend Engineer or similar role, with a track record of leading, building and scaling complex systems. * Deep expertise in modern backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java \&/OR Node.js) and their ecosystems. * Strong experience with distributed systems, event\-driven architecture, and microservices. * Hands\-on experience building and maintaining large\-scale data pipelines (ETL/ELT). * Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and experience integrating or working alongside LLM\-powered applications is a significant plus. * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure\-as\-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). * Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non\-technical stakeholders.
