As a fully remote position, you will play a key role in building, scaling, and optimizing Quil’s communication systems, enabling high\-quality voice, video, and messaging services within our AI\-powered recruitment platform. You will collaborate with product, AI, and engineering teams to create seamless, intelligent, and efficient communication experiences for users. **Key Responsibilities:** * Architect and develop communication solutions using Twilio and other VoIP platforms to support voice and messaging features within Quil's AI\-driven recruitment platform. * Design and implement features such as intelligent call routing, IVR systems, messaging automation, and real\-time candidate engagement. * Optimize and scale real\-time communication systems to handle high volumes of interactions across multiple touchpoints. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VoIP protocols, call quality, messaging, and platform integration. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams (product managers, AI engineers, designers) to ensure seamless integration and smooth user experiences. * Write efficient, maintainable code, and develop automated tests and CI/CD pipelines for communication services. * Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, and promote best practices within the team. * Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in communication APIs and AI integration. **Required Skills \& Qualifications:** * 5\+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years of hands\-on experience working with Twilio or similar VoIP platforms. * Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies (SIP, WebRTC, real\-time communication protocols) and telephony systems. * Experience building scalable, cloud\-based solutions using AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or similar. * Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or Ruby. * Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and communication patterns. * Knowledge of security best practices for communication systems, including encryption and authentication. * Strong problem\-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in an agile, distributed environment. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non\-technical stakeholders. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience integrating communication services into web and mobile applications. * Prior experience working on AI\-powered platforms or with data\-driven systems. * Experience building or maintaining call center solutions, customer service platforms, or enterprise\-level communication services. * Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and related tools. **Why Quil?** * Join a fast\-growing, venture\-backed startup that’s transforming the recruitment industry with AI\-driven solutions. * Work with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and AI experts to create impactful, high\-tech solutions. * Competitive salary * Fully remote role with flexible working hours * A collaborative and innovative work culture
