Senior Backend TypeScript Engineer at Crewfare

In this role, you will focus on building robust, scalable, and high\-performance backend systems for our cutting\-edge travel management platform. You will work closely with product, design, and frontend teams to create APIs, microservices, and infrastructure that enable seamless travel experiences for thousands of users. **Key Responsibilities** * Design, implement, and maintain backend systems and RESTful APIs using TypeScript and Node.js. * Develop scalable services using NestJS and related frameworks. * Ensure backend performance, reliability, and scalability of services. * Participate in the full development lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. * Write clean, maintainable, and well\-documented code. * Implement unit and integration tests to ensure high\-quality deliverables. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to design and ship new features. * Continuously improve backend architecture and workflows. * Stay up\-to\-date with emerging backend technologies and best practices. **What We’re Looking For** * Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal). * Working hours overlapping with US Eastern Time. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. * 5\+ years of professional experience in backend development. * Strong proficiency in  **TypeScript**  and  **Node.js** . * Experience with  **NestJS**  for building scalable backend applications. * Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.). * Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably  **AWS** . * Strong problem\-solving and debugging skills. * Ability to design efficient and maintainable APIs and services. **Nice\-to\-Haves** * Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). * Familiarity with serverless frameworks, such as  **SST** . * Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. * Experience with PostGIS or other geospatial technologies. * Previous experience in travel tech or similar domains. * Exposure to performance profiling and scaling high\-traffic backend systems. **Team and Culture** * You’ll be part of a small, close\-knit backend team, working collaboratively on key services and features. * Frequent interaction with frontend developers and stakeholders across the company to integrate backend solutions. * We value curiosity, innovation, and a willingness to learn from each other. * Our team fosters inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement. **Why Join Us?** * **Impactful Work:**  Help build backend systems that support seamless group travel for thousands of users. * **Growth Opportunities:**  Access to training budgets, mentorship, and career advancement programs. * **Collaborative Environment:**  Work cross\-functionally with talented teams across the organization. * **Flexible Environment:**  Remote\-friendly work culture with flexible hours. **Location** This position is international, and we are looking for candidates who are excited to work in a global environment.
