We stand with Ukraine and keep supporting our people by offering a friendly remote environment while adhering to the values of democracy, human rights, and state sovereignty. **About This Opportunity** We invite a Senior Software Engineer with strong full\-stack expertise to join our team. In this role, you'll design and scale backend systems that power a high\-performance SaaS platform used by thousands of organizations to manage their workforce, projects, and payroll efficiently. You'll also extend and refine our Hotwire/Tailwind design system, collaborating with engineers and product stakeholders to deliver a consistent, scalable, efficient UI. **What's in it for you:** * Contribute to scalable full\-stack systems for a SaaS platform used by 95,000\+ businesses * Tackle challenging problems using Ruby on Rails, Hotwire, Tailwind, Sidekiq, Redis, and modern JavaScript frameworks * Excel in a remote\-first, autonomous environment built on trust and async collaboration **Is that you?** * 7\+ years of commercial development experience, including 5\+ years with production Ruby on Rails applications * Strong database expertise with PostgreSQL or MySQL * Experience with background jobs and asynchronous processing (Sidekiq, Redis) * Proven ability to design high\-performance, scalable, and reliable systems * Experience with Hotwire, Tailwind, and at least one major JavaScript framework (React.js, Vue.js, etc.) * Experience collaborating asynchronously in fully remote teams * Track record of multi\-year tenure in recent roles **Desirable:** * Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or search engines (Elasticsearch, Solr) * Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/GCP * Experience optimizing performance in high\-traffic applications * Attention to design consistency and component\-driven development **Key Responsibilities And Your Contribution** In this role, you'll design and maintain scalable full\-stack systems that power our SaaS platform, balancing technical excellence with timely delivery. * Design, build, and maintain services and features using Ruby on Rails * Design scalable systems for large datasets and high request volumes * Extend the custom design system with new components, patterns, and accessibility standards * Build and integrate user\-facing features with Hotwire, Stimulus, and Turbo * Leverage modern JavaScript frameworks as needed * Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and product team on priorities and roadmap * Identify and fix performance bottlenecks in the database, application, and frontend rendering * Implement background job processing with Sidekiq and Redis * Write automated tests with RSpec, system tests, and Stimulus/Hotwire helpers * Participate in code reviews, documentation, and planning sessions
