Software Engineer

About the role: **Role: Software Engineer III** **Location:** São Paulo, SP – On\-site role **Duration:** 6 months **Salary:** $ 2200 USD monthly (FTE) We’re looking for a **Software Engineer III** with strong backend experience to join a high\-impact engineering team building large\-scale user\-facing products. **What You’ll Do** * Build and enhance backend features end to end: requirements, implementation, automated testing, A/B testing, and launch validation. * Collaborate with product, design, and client teams to deliver complete functionality. * Develop reliable, maintainable backend components used by other engineers. * Work on large\-scale, distributed, and data\-intensive systems. **What We’re Looking For** * **5\+ years** of backend engineering experience. * **Strong Java backend skills** (REST APIs, caching, storage, data processing). * **Hands\-on Big Data experience** : Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce (active migration from MR → Spark). * Strong understanding of **distributed systems** and data\-intensive architectures. * Experience with automated testing and clean, maintainable code. * Excellent communication skills—ability to explain architecture and product impact clearly. * Experience in consumer apps, social media, or large\-scale platforms (not financial systems). * Plus: Power BI or other analytics/data tooling. * Ability to communicate clearly in **English (fluent required)** and collaborate effectively across global teams. - If you have real Big Data experience and enjoy building products at scale, we’d love to hear from you!
