Staff AI/ML Plataform Engineer

We are hiring someone who will help build Shape’s MLOps platform along with other MLEs. This platform is a strategic asset for the company, as we currently have close to a thousand models running in production \- a figure that is growing fast. Our platform is built in Python, which means that having experience with this language is a must. A strong candidate will have a solid software engineering foundation (clean code, git, CI/CD, automated testing, code modularization, python package construction) above all else. **Responsibilities:** * Lead the design and implementation of innovative AI platform architectures that enable scalable, reliable, and efficient AI\-driven products across Shape’s portfolio. * Architect end\-to\-end AI solutions spanning from infrastructure to services that power multiple product lines and support diverse AI capabilities. * Establish technical standards, best practices, and design patterns for AI platform development across the organization. * Drive the adoption of cutting\-edge technologies and methodologies in AI/ML infrastructure, including emerging generative AI and LLMOps practices. * Make critical architectural decisions balancing technical excellence, business requirements, and resource constraints for AI systems. * Lead complex technical initiatives that span multiple teams and integrate AI capabilities across different product domains. * Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement in AI platform development. * Collaborate with leadership to define technical strategy and roadmap for AI platform evolution and capability expansion. * Identify and mitigate technical risks and limitations before they impact business objectives and AI product delivery. **Requirements:** * Solid software engineering background, knowledge of the best coding practices, and experience delivering code for products. * Is proficient with the Python language, and, preferably, at least one other language (e.g., Scala, Java, C\+\+, Bash). * Knowledge of Machine Learning, and its relevant tools and frameworks (e.g., scikit\-learn, Tensorflow, MLflow), also experience with models’ deployment to production environments and related tools (e.g., Docker, Kubeflow). * Learns fast and can work in a lean, autonomous, high\-performance team. Writes code to solve problems targeting the product evolution, and not only the current state of the business. We expect people to be results\-oriented, not task\- oriented. * Fosters an open and highly collaborative work environment. * **English proficiency;** **Differential:** * Hands\-on experience building, deploying, and scaling the use of Machine Learning models to drive business impact.
