Chief Data Engineer – Microservices & Back-End

We are looking for a **Chief Data Engineer** to lead innovative microservices and back\-end data software engineering initiatives focused on scalable and efficient data pipelines. You will oversee the architecture, development, and enhancement of data services, collaborating with architects and engineers to deliver high\-quality solutions. Join us to spearhead cutting\-edge projects and mentor a high\-performing technical team. **Responsibilities** * Design data pipelines and back\-end microservices within a microservices framework * Guarantee data integrity, system reliability, and seamless integration * Partner with architects and engineers to create scalable and resilient solutions * Establish and enforce data and API governance practices * Diagnose and improve data pipelines, APIs, and microservices performance * Coach and develop engineers to build a cooperative and innovative team environment * Lead advancements in microservices and back\-end architecture * Manage deployment workflows using CI/CD pipelines and cloud services * Oversee initiatives to sustain optimal system scalability and performance * Assess new data technologies to upgrade infrastructure capabilities **Requirements** * Extensive background in microservices, data engineering, and back\-end development using Java, Scala, Python, or Node.js with over 7 years of experience * Strong leadership qualities with proven experience mentoring engineering teams * Demonstrated expertise with Apache Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Cosmos DB, Redis, and SQL/Spark SQL * Proficient in CI/CD tools including Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD and container orchestration via Docker and Kubernetes * Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP * Skilled in designing RESTful APIs using Swagger, JSON, and YAML * Advanced troubleshooting and optimization capabilities for data pipelines and microservices * Effective communication skills for cross\-team collaboration * Upper\-Intermediate English proficiency (B2\) for interaction with international clients and teams **Nice to have** * Experience applying AI and machine learning strategies * Familiarity with the Rust programming language * Awareness of current and emerging data technology trends
