It’s in our name \& it’s what we do. **About the role** We’re looking for a **Senior Data Engineer** to help us build and scale our data platform from the ground up. You’ll play a key role in designing and implementing modern data architectures, including data lakes, lakehouses, and streaming pipelines, that will power critical business use cases such as AI, real\-time analytics, reporting, reconciliations, and fraud detection. This role is highly impactful: you’ll be working on core platform initiatives from day one, shaping how data is ingested, stored, processed, and consumed across the company. **What you can expect:** * Design, build, and maintain scalable data lakes and lakehouses, with a strong focus on Apache Iceberg and AWS\-native services (S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Athena). * Develop streaming and batch data pipelines to handle large\-scale, high\-velocity data from multiple sources. * Build out our real\-time ingestion layer using Kafka (or similar), ensuring scalability and reliability. * Optimize and maintain AWS\-based infrastructure, including Redshift and surrounding services. * Define and implement best practices for data quality, governance, monitoring, and reliability. * Partner with engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions for AI/ML, fraud detection, and regulatory reporting. * Take ownership of projects, work independently, and help guide the direction of our data platform. **What we are looking for:** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. * Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer, with a track record of building large\-scale data platforms. * Must\-have: Hands\-on experience building data lakes/lakehouses with frameworks such as Apache Iceberg (you will be working on this from day one). * Strong skills in SQL, Python, and Git. * Deep experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena; Lake Formation is a plus). * Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, RisingWave, or Flink. * Familiarity with data orchestration tools (dbt, Mage.ai, Airflow, Dagster, etc.). * Advanced English communication skills. * Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and deliver results in a fast\-paced environment. **Desirable:** * Experience in Terraform for infrastructure as code. * Experience working with Kubernetes **Our offer to you:** * Competitive salary based on performance and experience * Chance of earning Klar stock options * 26 days of paid vacation per year * Computer devices * Wellhub subscription to offer mental and physical health * Sponsored coaching and therapy sessions via Modern Health * International work environment with amazing and highly skilled people * A world class team that helps you evolve your skills in areas you're interested in **Klar is a safe place for everyone!** *We trust our highly skilled and diverse team and we’re committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for new talents to flourish.
