Senior Backend Engineer

Our platform, Made, leverages an AI agentic framework to maximize the capabilities of our customers and significantly increase their growth potential. **About the role** As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the server\-side components and architecture that power our applications. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, database engineers, AI engineers, and product teams to ensure that our backend systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and high\-performing. As RHEI is a high growth company, you should enjoy working in an entrepreneurial, high change environment.  RHEI has a remote work model which offers the best work life balance.  **Key Responsibilities** * Design and implement robust backend services, APIs, and microservices to meet application requirements. * Work with relational and non\-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity. * Work closely with frontend developers to define API specifications, integrate the backend logic, and ensure seamless user experiences. * Focus on optimizing the performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems. * Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code while following best practices in version control, unit testing, and code reviews. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in the backend code or server environments. * Implement security measures and ensure the protection of sensitive data in compliance with industry standards. * Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for the backend architecture, APIs, and services. **Key Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field. * 7 years of experience as a backend developer. * Strong proficiency in Python for web development. * Solid experience with Django, Django REST framework and REST APIs. * Experience handling asynchronous tasks in Python (e.g., Celery). * Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and writing optimized SQL queries. * Familiarity with version control tools like Git. * Strong problem\-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. * Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). * Experience with message queues (e.g., SQS, SNS). * Knowledge of security best practices and data privacy compliance. * Experience with microservices architecture. * Experience with automated tests in Python. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. **Plus Requirements** * Experience with FastAPI.
