We are currently looking for a Staff Performance Engineer, Marketplace in Latin America.** As a Staff Performance Engineer, Marketplace, you will play a critical role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and speed of a dynamic eCommerce platform. You will be responsible for optimizing performance across backend services, frontend applications, and critical transaction workflows, ensuring seamless experiences for both merchants and customers. This role combines deep technical expertise with cross\-functional collaboration, enabling you to influence platform architecture, implement performance best practices, and mentor engineering teams. You will work closely with product, finance, and operations teams to translate business requirements into high\-performance technical solutions. The position offers the opportunity to tackle complex challenges in a fast\-paced, high\-growth environment, shaping the performance and scalability of key marketplace systems across Latin America. **Accountabilities** * Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex performance issues across the full technology stack * Design and implement scalable solutions for critical systems, including payment gateways, order processing, and merchant management services * Establish performance monitoring, alerting, and reporting mechanisms, analyzing data to proactively recommend improvements * Conduct in\-depth code reviews, guiding engineering teams on efficient algorithms, optimal data structures, and performance best practices * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams on capacity planning and load testing to ensure the platform can handle growing traffic and transaction volumes * Act as a subject matter expert in performance engineering, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of high performance * Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and AI tools to enhance system performance and development velocity **Requirements** * 8\+ years of experience in full\-stack development with expertise in Kotlin or Node.js, React, Next.js, and SQL databases * Proven track record architecting and scaling complex backend systems in high\-growth environments * Deep understanding of distributed systems, service\-oriented and event\-driven architectures * Expertise in system performance optimization and scalability best practices * Experience developing and maintaining frontend applications with React, Next.js, and GraphQL * Strong ability to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable plans and deliver timely solutions * Advanced English proficiency to communicate complex ideas effectively with international teams * Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical guidance * Preferred: experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, observability tools (e.g., DataDog), AI\-assisted coding tools, and marketplace or fintech platforms **Benefits** * Competitive salary paid in USD * Fully remote work with flexibility to design your own work\-life balance * 15 business days of vacation per year starting from day one * Monthly healthcare stipend to use with your preferred provider * 16 fully paid national holidays (Argentina) * Compassionate leave (3\-5 days as needed) and paid family leave * Personalized English coaching * Access to a comprehensive benefits platform for wellness, learning, and lifestyle perks * 4\-week paid sabbatical after 5 years of tenure Jobgether is a Talent Matching Platform that partners with companies worldwide to efficiently connect top talent with the right opportunities through AI\-driven job matching.
