**Software Engineer (Big data)** 📍 **Location:** São Paulo, Brazil Remote ⏱️ **Duration:** 6 months (contract with potential extension) 💰 **Compensation:** 2,200 monthly as FTE with all the statutary benefits **What You’ll Do** * Build Pinner\-facing features across the Pinterest backend application. * Contribute to the full product lifecycle: requirements, development, A/B testing, and launch validation. * Collaborate closely with product, design, and client teams to deliver end\-to\-end functionality. * Write reliable, maintainable, and high\-quality code supported by automated testing. * Work with world\-class engineers on high\-impact, large\-scale systems. **What We’re Looking For** * **3–5\+ years** of backend engineering experience (Java strongly preferred; Python a plus). * Hands\-on experience with **Big Data technologies** : Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce, or other distributed processing frameworks. * Strong understanding of backend fundamentals—REST APIs, storage, caching, distributed systems. * Ability to clearly explain system designs, architecture, and product implications. * Strong communication and collaboration skills. * Experience building consumer or business\-facing products at scale. * Nice to have: Power BI or Big Data tooling exposure, automation experience.
