Software Engineer II

**Job Description:** **About the Role** We’re looking for a Sr. Software Engineer (Backend / Reliability) to help us build and operate a highly reliable, public\-facing software product. This is a hybrid role combining backend development with site reliability engineering (SRE). The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable writing code in Go or Python as they are designing Terraform automations across environments. You’ll collaborate closely with developers and DevOps engineers across the globe to build tools to improve performance, observability, and reliability. You’ll automate operations and work to make our system effortless to run. **Key Responsibilities** · Write backend code: Develop code that makes our public\-facing products more reliable, observable, portable and efficient. · Create tooling to manage environments with infrastructure as code (IAC) · Keep us online. You will proactively handle failures, prepare disaster recovery plans and keep us informed with metrics. · Work closely with other engineers (in Brazil and the US) to facilitate new features. · Troubleshoot incidents: Diagnose and resolve production issues quickly, performing root cause analysis and follow\-up improvements. · Harden security: Collaborate on security reviews, dependency management, and vulnerability mitigation. · Collect analytics: Instrument services to gather meaningful data for performance, usage, and error tracking. **Required Qualifications** · A commitment to continuous learning and your own professional development. · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent technical training). · 8\+ years of experience as a Backend SWE or Site Reliability Engineer. · Proficiency in both spoken and written English (required.) · Strong skills in at least one modern programming language. Go/Python a plus. · Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems. · Advanced knowledge of at least one major cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes). · Familiarity with monitoring/observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry). · Knowledge of security best practices, networking, and Linux system internals. · A proactive mindset.
