**AWS \& Python Backend Engineer** **Contract Type:** Contractor **Work Model:** 100% Remote **About the Role** We are looking for a Mid–Senior Python Backend Engineer to support and evolve production delivery platforms in a fast\-paced, operational environment. This role is hands\-on and execution\-focused, working closely with configuration, automation, and data integrity across multiple environments. You’ll be embedded in day\-to\-day production support and change management, troubleshooting issues, validating fixes, and ensuring smooth delivery through schema\-driven configurations and Python automation. **Key Responsibilities** * Troubleshoot and resolve delivery issues across environments, including pipeline failures and data inconsistencies. * Maintain, refactor, and validate schema\-driven YAML/JSON configurations for distribution and exhibition platforms. * Support operational workflows by updating and maintaining internal Python automation scripts. * Perform database\-level investigations (SQL) to validate data integrity and confirm issue resolution. * Work within a PR\-based change management process, ensuring clean diffs, clear documentation, and regression verification. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to ensure stable and predictable delivery operations. * Apply observability and log analysis techniques to trace failures, correlate identifiers, and extract actionable insights. * Ensure configuration hygiene and compliance with schema validation rules and tooling. **Mandatory Skills \& Experience** * **YAML/JSON (production\-grade):** Safe authoring and refactoring, strict structural discipline, and controlled change hygiene. * **Git \& PR workflows:** Clean commits, review discipline, conflict resolution, and controlled promotions across environments. * **Observability \& Log Analysis:** Ability to trace failures across pipeline stages and derive actionable signals from logs and metrics. * **Schema \& Validation Mindset:** Comfort interpreting schema errors and maintaining compliant configurations. * **Python:** Debugging and enhancing existing scripts and automation with minimal, safe changes. * **Databases (SQL):** Querying production data to investigate issues, validate fixes, and confirm outcomes. * **Production Support Fundamentals:** Incident triage, root\-cause analysis, mitigation, and regression verification. * **Jinja Templating:** Understanding template\-driven generation and making precise, low\-risk updates. **Nice to Have** * Knowledge of Media Supply Chain concepts (deliverables, packaging, metadata hierarchies, locales, downstream dependencies). * Experience with advanced configuration and mapping patterns (conditional logic, lookups, padding, globals/locals). * Exposure to CI/CD or automation improvements (linting, formatting, pre\-validation, regression harnesses). * Familiarity with partner operations, rejection patterns, and exception handling. * Strong written communication for incident updates, PR summaries, and requirement translation. **Preferred Background** * Hands\-on experience providing production support for large\-scale delivery or distribution platforms. * Strong
