**Job Description** **About the Role** We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join our team in Sorocaba, Brazil. You’ll receive mentorship from senior engineers, participate in design and code reviews, and learn how to build robust, well\-documented APIs and backend services that power Nextpower’s cloud platforms. **Key Responsibilities** * Support the development and maintenance of backend services and APIs. * Help implement OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications and maintain clear API documentation. * Collaborate with front\-end and DevOps teams to integrate and deploy services. * Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and participate in peer code reviews. * Assist with application monitoring, debugging, and performance optimization. * Contribute to continuous improvement of our development and deployment processes. * Contribute to the progression of your professional development. * Communicate effectively in English with international team members. **Required Qualifications** * A commitment to continuous learning and your own professional development. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent technical training). * 2\+ years of professional experience in backend software development (internship or academic project experience a plus). * Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language – Golang or Python a plus. You’ll need to code without AI to pass the interviews. * Proficiency in English (spoken and written) — required for communication with global teams. **Preferred Qualifications** * Familiarity with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications. * Understanding of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and basic data modeling concepts. * Some exposure to Docker or containerized environments. * Basic understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP). * Experience from academic, open\-source, or personal projects using modern backend frameworks. * Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab). * Awareness of CI/CD principles and basic DevOps concepts. * Interest in renewable energy, IoT, or industrial automation.
