**Job Title:** Backend Developer – SAP Cloud (Node.js) **Work Model:** Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote) **Location:** São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil **Time Zone Support:** EMEA **Role Overview** We are seeking an experienced **Backend Developer** to design, develop, and optimize scalable backend services for SAP cloud\-based applications. The role focuses on building AI\-enabled, high\-performance backend solutions that enable **24/7 self\-service capabilities for partners** , significantly reduce issue resolution times, and streamline operational workloads. You will work closely with cross\-functional teams in an Agile environment while contributing to modern cloud\-native architectures on **SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)** . **Delivery Scope** The backend services you develop will support an **AI\-powered solution** that: * Retrieves and processes data from multiple backend systems * Enables automated partner self\-service availability * Reduces operational dependency and resolution turnaround time * Integrates securely and efficiently with SAP enterprise systems **Key Responsibilities** * Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js * Build and extend cloud\-native applications using SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) * Integrate backend services with SAP S/4HANAvia OData APIs * Develop scalable, secure, and high\-performance services on SAP BTP * Implement best practices for authentication, authorization, and data protection * Collaborate with frontend, AI, and SAP functional teams * Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand\-ups, retrospectives) * Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend performance * Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows **Required Skills Qualifications** **Technical Skills** * Strong hands\-on experience with Node.js.jsbackend development * Solid knowledge of SAP BTPand cloud\-native architectures * Experience working with SAP HANA Cloud * Strong understanding of OData services and REST APIs * Familiarity with API integration and Generative AI concepts * Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments **Tools Technologies** * Git\-based version control and build automation tools * SAP Business Application Studio and/or Visual Studio Code * API testing and validation using Postman(or similar tools) * Experience with Jirafor task and sprint management **Nice\-to\-Have Skills** * Hands\-on experience with SAP GenAI Hub * Advanced experience with SAP CAP extensions * Prior exposure to AI\-driven or intelligent automation solutions * Experience working in global delivery models supporting EMEA stakeholders **Travel Work Arrangement** * Hybrid role requiring on\-site presence 3 days per week (60%) * On\-site work location: São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil * Candidate must be based in Brazil and willing to travel locally as required **Soft Skills** * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Ability to work independently and as part of distributed teams * Problem\-solving mindset with attention to performance and security * Comfortable working across time zones and multicultural teams
