**\[H1] Do you want to own the communication backbone for AI Agents at scale?** 🚀📱 We are looking for a **Backend Engineer** to be the **Owner of the WhatsApp channel** at **HeadOffice.ai** . This isn't just about maintaining an API; it's about architecting the most critical communication vein of our platform. You will be responsible for ensuring that the journey from a user's message to an AI's reply is resilient, intelligent, and seamless. **The Mission (Your Role)** You will own the WhatsApp channel end\-to\-end: from integration with the WhatsApp Business API (Cloud) to message ingestion, AI reply delivery, and deep connection with our CRM and automation engine. You are the bridge between raw data and conversational intelligence. **The Challenge: Engineering Resilience** Working with WhatsApp and AI is a puzzle of latency and reliability. You will design systems that handle webhooks in milliseconds while orchestrating complex AI processing in the background. Your goal is a solid flow: **Message In ➔ Conversation Resolution ➔ AI Processing ➔ Reply Out.** **Your Responsibilities:** * **Webhook Ownership:** Receive events and process them reliably. You ensure we never miss a message and always respond with speed. * **Template \& Policy Management:** Create, approve, and implement templates following Meta’s strict policies while maintaining flexibility for AI free\-text rules. * **Media Handling:** Architect how we receive, store, and make media available for both the AI’s understanding and the user’s experience. * **AI Integration \& Context:** Keep the AI sharp by managing history, summaries, handovers, and client\-specific rules within the WhatsApp pipeline. * **Consistency Across Channels:** Ensure that WhatsApp and in\-app chat behave as a unified experience for the end\-user. * **Observability \& Documentation:** If a message fails, you are the first to know. You build the logs, alerts, and docs that keep the system transparent. **A Typical Day:** * Monitor alerts and logs to preemptively fix or escalate channel issues. * Ship a feature or fix (improving flow, template logic, or media handling). * Sync with Product and AI teams to define new conversational behaviors. * Review code and level up our automated tests to ensure 99\.9% uptime.
