DATA ENGINEER \- SR BI ENGINEER (REMOTE BR or PT) Portuguese company hires for remote position Location: REMOTE Brazil or Portugal Work Model: 100% Remote ️ Language Requirements: English C1, Portuguese Fluent Seniority: Senior (8\+ years) Sector: Banking Requisitos: About the Role We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Senior BI Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and scaling high\-performance data models, pipelines, and self\-service analytics solutions. In this position, you will work in a highly loaded data environment, handling billions of events per day, and enabling data\-driven decision\-making across reporting, product analytics, marketing optimization, and financial insights. You’ll be part of a self\-organized, experienced data engineering team, operating in a fast\-paced, innovative, and international environment, where quality, scalability, and reliability are critical. * Working hours(mandatory): Lisbon (WET): 14:00 – 00:00 \- Alignment with EST working hours (09:00 – 19:00 EST) Key Responsibilities Lead the functional and architectural design of BI and data engineering solutions Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models, pipelines, and aggregation layers Build and support self\-service analytics and dashboards using BI tools Define, own, and track business KPIs, measurement plans, and reporting standards Develop large\-scale, high\-volume, high\-performance solutions for Data Lakes and Data Warehouses Ensure data quality, validation, and governance across platforms Perform code reviews, define coding standards, and promote best practices Identify technical risks, define mitigation plans, and resolve critical issues Collaborate with Business Analysts, cross\-functional teams, and stakeholders Translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions Proactively suggest technical and functional improvements to add business value Required Experience \& Qualifications 8\+ years of total experience, with 4–5\+ years in BI, Data Engineering, or Analytics University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Strong expertise in ThoughtSpot (mandatory, hands\-on experience required) Advanced SQL skills, including data modeling (Dimensional, 3NF, Data Vault) and performance tuning Solid experience with ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts Proficiency in Python Hands\-on experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift) Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI Excellent analytical, problem\-solving, and communication skills Comfortable working in a fast\-paced, international environment English level C1 or higher (mandatory) – fluent communication with global stakeholders Availability to work Lisbon hours aligned with EST Nice to Have Experience with real\-time data processing and streaming technologies Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and data requirements Languages English: C1 or higher (mandatory) Portuguese: Fluent
