Lead Data DevOps Engineer (AWS)

We are looking for a seasoned **Lead Data DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS** to drive technical strategy, manage complex initiatives, and lead the design, enhancement, and optimization of robust, scalable, and secure cloud\-based data infrastructures. In this role, you will guide the strategic vision for cloud and data platform development, mentor and coach team members, and ensure the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. You will collaborate with cross\-functional stakeholders, lead technical discussions, and act as the primary escalation point for critical infrastructure decisions. **Responsibilities** * Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing improvement of scalable data infrastructure using AWS services like ECS, RDS, Athena, Glue, S3, EBS, CloudFormation, IAM, and Redshift * Architect, implement, and advocate for advanced automation workflows leveraging Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation * Partner with data engineering and analytics teams to design and optimize large\-scale, high\-performing data pipelines and workflows using Python, AWS Glue, and other AWS\-native tools * Define organizational best practices for monitoring and managing CI/CD pipelines tailored for AWS environments, utilizing tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or similar tools * Drive initiatives to enhance system performance, scalability, reliability, and cost\-efficiency for complex cloud\-hosted data systems while streamlining operational processes * Evaluate and oversee the integration of advanced data tools, including Apache Airflow, Apache Spark (AWS EMR), or similar frameworks, to modernize data processing workflows * Proactively troubleshoot, handle escalations, and lead root cause analyses for critical AWS\-based infrastructure and system incidents, promoting stability and resilience * Develop and enforce advanced IAM configurations, robust security policies, encryption standards, and compliance practices for secure data infrastructure * Lead capacity planning, resource optimization, and cross\-team cost\-management efforts to achieve operational efficiency for critical data platform components * Mentor and provide guidance to junior, mid\-level, and senior team members, while serving as the technical authority on data infrastructure and AWS best practices * Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to establish roadmaps, prioritize technical initiatives, and ensure the timely delivery of high\-impact projects * Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and innovation to meet evolving business and technical needs **Requirements** * 5\+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, DevOps, or related fields, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure and automation * At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience * Mastery of Python programming for scripting, automation, and optimization of complex workflows across large\-scale systems * Deep expertise with SQL for managing and querying large and complex datasets * Extensive experience architecting and managing data infrastructure on AWS, with advanced familiarity with services like Redshift, Glue, EMR, Athena, and S3 * Proven track record in designing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices at scale using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools * Demonstrated ability to build and maintain enterprise\-grade CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline * Hands\-on experience with distributed data processing and orchestration frameworks like Apache Spark (EMR), Apache Airflow, or equivalent technologies * Strong knowledge of Linux system administration, performance tuning, and container orchestration technologies such as Docker or AWS ECS/EKS * Advanced understanding of networking protocols including TCP, UDP, DNS, and NAT in cloud\-based environments, with hands\-on experience troubleshooting network\-related issues within AWS * Expertise in architecting, deploying, and operating advanced data platforms such as Apache Kafka, NiFi, or other large\-scale pipeline tools * Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineers at varying levels, fostering growth and cultivating a collaborative, high\-performing team culture * Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2\+ level) **Nice to have** * Prior experience with other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP, including expertise in multi\-cloud or hybrid cloud architecture design * Knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis tools like R, or data visualization solutions like Tableau or Power BI * Experience with advanced CI/CD platforms like Bamboo or configuration management tools * Proven background in designing secure, scalable solutions across hybrid cloud and on\-premises architectures * Hands\-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters or containerized applications in AWS EKS/ECS
