**Client:** Inspyr / Southwest Airlines **Role:** Tivoli Support Engineer (IBM Workload Scheduler / IWS) **Location:** LATAM (Remote) **Role Overview:** We are seeking an experienced **Level 2\+ Tivoli Support Engineer** to provide advanced operational support for our Linux\-based IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) system. The role focuses on troubleshooting, job management, platform administration, scripting, automation, and root cause analysis. Ideal candidates will also have strong database and operating system knowledge, cloud experience, and a proactive approach to improving system performance and reliability. **Key Responsibilities:** **Application Administration \& Support** * Maintain and update job definitions, calendars, variables, and prompts under change control. * Document incidents, maintain shift handovers, and escalate to L3 when required. * Coordinate with application teams for incident resolution, scheduling, or workflow queries. * Participate in CAB discussions for operational impacts or schedule changes. * Develop and maintain custom scripts, tools, REST APIs, and plugins. * Integrate IWS with enterprise applications (SAP, Informatica, Oracle). * Recommend automated solutions to enhance performance and efficiency. **Maintenance \& Monitoring** * Support DB2 maintenance, patching, upgrades, and hotfixes. * Execute routine maintenance and validation checks; implement proactive monitoring. * Generate operational, audit, and license reports. * Create and maintain event rules, monitor workloads via DWC, and verify agent health. * Troubleshoot job failures, SLA breaches, and alerts; take corrective action as needed. **Onboarding \& Collaboration** * Assist with onboarding new applications: configure job streams, dependencies, and critical paths. * Install and configure agents on application servers; implement new scheduling workflows. * Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring/high\-impact issues. * Contribute to HA/DR strategies and perform failover testing. * Ensure security compliance through patching and vulnerability remediation. **Required Skills \& Experience:** **IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) Expertise** * Deep understanding of IWS internals: job streams, calendars, dependencies. * Experience with Dynamic Workload Console (DWC), Dynamic Agents, Dynamic Broker Server. * Configure advanced job types: WebService, REST API, Java, S3, Cloud\-native jobs. * Strong command of IWS CLI and event processor components. * Experience with HA/BDM configurations and cloud integration (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud). **Infrastructure \& Security** * Advanced DB2 knowledge; experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL. * Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting; understanding of Windows Services. * Proficiency in TLS/certificate management. **Scripting \& Automation** * Strong Shell scripting (Bash, KornShell) and Python skills. * Experience with REST APIs, automation\-first mindset, and root cause analysis. **Cloud \& Modern Tooling** * Experience with Amazon RDS (MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL). * Knowledge of migrating workloads to cloud platforms. * Familiarity with Liberty/Open Liberty as related to IWS components. **Team \& Collaboration** * Mentor L1/L2 support teams; handle escalations and complex issues. * Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience in SAFe Agile frameworks. * Preferred: Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), Docker, Slack, ServiceNow. **Experience Level** * 3–5\+ years with job scheduling tools (IBM IWS/Tivoli, Autosys, Control\-M, BMC, etc.).
