Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)

We’re looking for a Senior SDET to join a project at a leading data\-intelligence company that enables organisations to “do more with trusted data”. Their platform spans data catalog, governance, quality, AI governance and observability — helping businesses turn data into a strategic asset. In this role, you’ll combine deep test engineering competence with strong software engineering skills. You’ll build automation frameworks, drive a shift\-left testing mindset across Agile teams, and help raise the bar for quality across the stack. **What you will do:** * Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts (Java, Playwright/TypeScript) for UI, API and backend\-oriented systems. * Integrate and optimise CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated testing is embedded into the delivery flow. * Define what to test, how to test it and when — guide the team on test strategy (smoke, regression, end\-to\-end). * Collaborate with developers, product managers and operations to troubleshoot defects, improve observability/testability and reduce bottlenecks. * Perform exploratory testing, analyse customer\-reported issues and use findings to enhance automation coverage and test design. * Advocate for quality: you’ll initiate improvements in test practices, help build culture and push for continuous improvement. **Requirements:** * Extensive experience in test engineering with strong software engineering capability. * Proven ability to **write, maintain and refactor automated tests/frameworks** in **Java** and/or Python. * Hands\-on experience with **Playwright/Typescript.** * Solid experience working with **CI/CD pipelines**, GitHub Actions/Jenkins or similar. * Familiarity with **cloud environments (AWS/GCP)**, **containerisation (Docker)** and orchestration (Kubernetes). * Familiarity with networking and security controls (e.g. authentication mechanisms). * Quickly acquires necessary domain knowledge * Understands non\-functional requirements for our product and advocates for proper treatment of these areas * Understands the open\-domain problem and its implications for quality assurance * Strong troubleshooting skills: reading stack traces, detecting flaky results, isolating root causes of failures. * You are **self\-driven**, proactive and able to operate with minimal guidance. * Good communication and collaboration skills — you’ll influence across engineering, product and QA. * English fluency (written \& spoken). **Nice to have:** * Experience in data governance, metadata platforms, or data\-intelligence solutions. * API contract testing experience, performance/sub\-system testing for large\-volume data. * Experience shaping test dashboards, tracking test metrics, and flaky\-test monitoring. * Exposure to security testing, cloud native QA practices or observability/instrumentation in test frameworks. **Why is this a great opportunity?** * You’ll join a forward\-looking team at the intersection of data, AI and enterprise governance, working on a platform used globally to manage data intelligence. * The role emphasises autonomy: you’ll be trusted to own the SDET agenda, influence test strategy and deliver real impact. * You’ll work with modern tools: Playwright, Java automation frameworks, cloud environments and shift\-left practices. * You’ll be part of a growth\-oriented, high\-energy team where quality is a priority and you can elevate testing to be a strategic differentiator. **Working Conditions:** * Long\-term 12\-month contract with possibility for extension * Choose your contract: Contract or B2B, * Unlimited working\-from\-anywhere policy, * 10 Days PTO after 4 months of working in IT Labs, * Referral Bonuses, * Virtual Knowledge Sharing Sessions, Events and Team Hangouts. **Our values** We are a company that seeks the best for both our employees and clients, reaching beyond expectations in turning dreams into reality.
