Junior Backend Engineer

The Mission: Ending Pricing Guesswork Most B2B SaaS companies leave money on the table because pricing is guesswork.  **Mondrio**  is building the AI\-powered monetization operating system to fix this. We are a pre\-seed team of four (2 Engineering, 2 Pricing Strategy) shipping real software to live customers. We are looking for an ambitious engineer who wants to skip the corporate ladder and learn how to build an AI\-first company from the ground floor. The Stage * **The Team:**  You’ll work directly with Manon (CTO, Software and Product Engineer, ex\-Founder) and Ann Sophie (Founding AI Engineer). No managers, no layers. You will also collaborate with Gregor (CEO) and Joep (CCO), who together bring two decades of pricing strategy expertise from working with 100\+ global companies and tech unicorns. * **The Mission:**  Move pricing strategy from messy and scattered information into a connected, intelligent, data\-driven system. * **The Stack:**  Python (FastAPI), React/TypeScript, MongoDB, and a heavy dose of LLM orchestration. **The AI\-Native Workflow** We don't just "use" AI; we are an AI\-native engineering org. * We use  **Claude Code**  for scoping, writing, and reviewing code. * You get a Claude Code seat on Day 1\. * If you aren’t already using AI to your workflow, we’ll teach you. If you are, you’ll be in heaven. This is the most essential skill for the next decade of software engineering, and you’ll learn to master it here. **Your First 30 Days** This is a "learn by shipping" environment. By the end of your first month, you will have: * **Built an Integration:**  Designed and deployed OAuth 2\.0 flows and data sync pipelines for a live pilot customer. * **Owned a Module:**  Built our "Northstar" intelligence module from scratch—from MongoDB schema to React visualizations. * **Shipped AI Features:**  Extended our Persona service using LLMs to turn raw customer data into actionable strategy. **Who you are** We value  **trajectory over years of experience.**  This role is a unique "fast\-track" for someone early in their career who is ready for founding\-level responsibility. * **Ownership:**  You don't just "complete tickets." You own features end\-to\-end. If you see a bug or a logic gap, you don't wait for a spec to fix it. You take initiative and see it through to production. * **Technical:**  You write modern, type\-hinted Python and can navigate a React/TS codebase. You’re a builder first, a specialist second. * **AI\-First:**  You use tools like Cursor, Copilot, or Claude to move fast, but you own every line of code you ship. * **Product\-Minded:**  You care about the "Why." You want to understand the customer’s pricing pain, not just the ticket description. * **Fluent:**  You speak and write English clearly (we are an async\-heavy, writing\-first team). **This is NOT for you if:** * You need a 10\-page spec to start working. We provide high\-level goals; you provide the path. * You are uncomfortable with ambiguity. At pre\-seed, the "right" way to build changes as we learn from customers. * You only want to work on "pure backend."
