Java Software Engineer

**Job Title:** Java Developer **Location:** Remote (Brazil) **Working Hours:** 9:00am–5:00pm EST (some flexibility) **Qualifications:** * 3\+ years of Java development experience (Java 17\+) * Strong experience with Spring Boot * Proven experience supporting and maintaining large legacy systems \- maintenance and bug fixes * Excellent communication skills; proactive, collaborative, and user‑focused **Plusses:** * Exposure to search technologies (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Apache Solr) * Experience with Python and Airflow (orchestration) * Experience with AWS cloud services * Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments **Day‑to‑Day:** As a member of this team, you’ll focus on maintaining and supporting legacy search platforms that power at least five internal products. The role centers on working within a large, established codebase—resolving bugs, responding to outages, and ensuring overall system stability and reliability. While new feature development is limited, you’ll occasionally handle enhancement requests as needed. This role prioritizes quality, thoughtful problem‑solving, and strong communication over speed. You’ll collaborate closely with internal users, frequently engaging via Slack and participating in regular team discussions.
