We are currently looking for a Sr. Engineer, Backend (MCP) in Brazil.** We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help shape and scale the systems that power the next generation of AI\-driven automation. This role involves designing core APIs, building platform primitives, and integrating AI agent workflows across a vast ecosystem of third\-party applications. You will collaborate closely with cross\-functional teams to define architecture, enhance performance, and ensure high availability and security. The position offers high visibility and impact, providing the opportunity to influence foundational protocols that enable seamless interactions between AI agents and real\-world systems. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise, platform thinking, and an ownership mindset to deliver robust and scalable solutions in a fast\-moving, experimental environment. **Accountabilities** * Design, implement, and evolve core backend APIs enabling AI agents to interact with integrations at scale. * Build high\-availability, scalable systems with robust logging, orchestration, and execution capabilities. * Influence performance, memory optimization, and reasoning steps within the Model Context Protocol (MCP). * Integrate MCP with existing execution infrastructure and interface LLM clients effectively. * Collaborate with Product, Design, Platform, and Sales teams to ensure protocol usability for both internal and external stakeholders. * Drive architectural decisions prioritizing scalability, security, and clarity for developers and AI systems. * Participate in high\-visibility projects with executive\-level impact, contributing to long\-term platform strategy. **Requirements** * 6\+ years of backend engineering experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex production systems. * Proficiency in Python or Node.js for building backend services, APIs, and database models. * Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and software engineering best practices. * Familiarity with AI tooling and frameworks, including model context protocols or agent frameworks. * Experience contributing to platform products with a focus on extensibility, documentation, and robust foundations. * Ownership mindset with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and drive projects to completion. * Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non\-technical stakeholders. * Strong problem\-solving, customer empathy, and pragmatic decision\-making abilities. **Benefits** * Competitive salary range of $174,200 – $261,200 USD, with equity and bonus opportunities. * Fully remote work with flexibility in schedule and location. * Comprehensive health insurance and retirement benefits. * Opportunities for career growth, skill development, and exposure to cutting\-edge AI and automation technologies. * Collaborative, high\-impact work environment with executive visibility and strategic influence. **Why Apply Through Jobgether?** We use an **AI\-powered matching process** to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
