Senior Backend Engineer

**Description** **JOB DESCRIPTION** Accedo develops applications and solutions for the Television, Broadcast and Streaming industry, providing a range of engineering challenges for our Development Teams. Accedo customers include over 350 of the world’s leading video service providers, such as Sky TV NZ, Vodafone NZ, Spark, TVNZ, Fox, HBO, NBC Universal, StarHub, among many others. **What We Are Looking For** Accedo is looking for a full\-time permanent Senior Software Engineer, Back\-End in the Global Service Management team based in São Paulo, Brazil to provide expert development and project implementation skills for the E\&L region. Your major responsibilities will include: * You will play a key role in building and maintaining production applications and verify resolution * Feature development, SDK updates and code enhancement, refactoring, and review * Actively participate in Customer discussions, requirements analysis and testing support. **Requirements** **Deep Technical Expertise** * Expert\-level proficiency in Node.js (event loop, streams, performance tuning) * Strong command of TypeScript and scalable project structure * Experience with frameworks like NestJS / Express * Designing and maintaining robust REST and/or GraphQL APIs **Architecture \& System Design** * Proven experience designing scalable, distributed systems * Strong understanding of microservices and message queues * Experience with caching strategies (Redis), rate limiting, and performance optimization * API versioning, backward compatibility, and long\-term maintainability mindset * Applying clean architecture, TDD, and design patterns where appropriate **Cloud \& DevOps** * Hands\-on experience with AWS/Google Cloud/Azure * CI/CD pipeline design and optimization * Observability: logging, tracing, metrics (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) * Designing cloud\-native solutions (serverless, containers, Kubernetes) is a plus * Infrastructure\-as\-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus **Leadership \& Ownership** * Leading technical design discussions and architecture decisions * Mentoring engineers and performing high\-quality code reviews * Translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions * Strong ownership mindset and accountability for production systems **Soft Skills** * Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written, fluency in additional language(s) would be hugely advantageous * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related discipline(s) * At least 5 years of professional experiences developing applications in multiple platforms
