**Full Stack Ruby Engineer** **Our Client's Company:** Our client's company is a healthcare technology company that provides convenient, in\-home physical therapy by connecting patients with licensed therapists and delivering personalized care through a tech\-enabled platform. **Role Overview:** We are seeking a seasoned **Senior Full Stack Engineer with deep Ruby expertise** to lead development on our core API and front\-end systems. You will own high\-impact features across our healthcare technology platform, with a focus on third\-party integrations, robust backend logic, and intuitive frontend user experiences. This is a high\-visibility engineering role with end\-to\-end ownership and the opportunity to shape the product roadmap. **Responsibilities:** **Backend (Ruby, Sinatra)** * Architect, build, and maintain scalable APIs and automation services using Ruby (Sinatra framework). * Lead development of complex integrations with third\-party services such as Zoho CRM/Desk, Clinicient EMR, Stripe, DropboxSign, and AWS S3\. * Manage data workflows and background processing using Rake tasks and ActiveRecord. * Optimize system performance and resolve bottlenecks in data\-heavy environments. * Uphold best practices in code structure, security (HIPAA compliance), testing (RSpec), and maintainability. * Contribute to architectural decisions including data modeling and service boundaries. * Operate within a GitLab CI/CD and Docker containerization environment. **Frontend (React, JS)** * Build and maintain dynamic user\-facing components using React.js and modern JavaScript (ES6\+). * Ensure responsive, cross\-browser\-compatible UI with clean HTML5/CSS3 implementation. * Integrate front\-end features with RESTful backend services. * Debug and resolve frontend performance and usability issues. **Required Qualifications** * 5\+ years of full\-stack development experience with a strong backend focus. * Expert\-level Ruby developer; hands\-on experience with Sinatra or Rails. * Solid understanding of object\-oriented design and architecture patterns (e.g., Service Objects). * Strong PostgreSQL skills: schema design, complex queries, and performance tuning. * Deep experience with RESTful APIs and background job frameworks. * Proven RSpec test coverage practices; TDD mindset. * Proficient in React.js and ES6\+ JavaScript. * Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD workflows, Docker. * Detail\-oriented, security\-minded, and comfortable working in healthcare\-compliant environments. **Preferred Qualifications** * Prior experience in healthcare tech or HIPAA\-compliant environments. * Familiarity with Clinicient, Zoho CRM/Desk, Stripe, DropboxSign, AWS S3\. * Understanding of caching strategies and optimizing high\-throughput systems. * Experience with TypeScript, performance profiling, or analytics instrumentation. * Leverage AI tools to support frontend development. **What We Offer** * Fully remote, flexible working environment. * Mission\-driven culture focused on improving healthcare delivery. * Opportunity to lead and grow within a fast\-moving, high\-impact startup. * Collaborative, engineering\-led product development process.
