Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

**Job Title:** Senior Backend Engineer (Contractor) – Python / SaaS / APIs **Location:** LATAM / Remote **Employment Type:** Contract **Job Description:** We are looking for a **Senior Backend Engineer** to join as a contractor, contributing to the development of high\-quality solutions for digital curriculum products and content systems. The ideal candidate will work in an agile environment, handling different types of content and text data, extending Python services to deliver this content to downstream systems and UIs. **Responsibilities:** * Develop and maintain **scalable backend services and APIs** in Python. * Handle different types of content and text data in various formats. * Write **clean, testable, high\-quality code**, including automated tests. * Contribute to the **design and scope of features**, identifying missing requirements. * Work with the lead engineer to organize **sprints, ticket grooming, and task delivery**. * Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to turn ambiguous goals into well\-defined, iterative work items. **Requirements:** * 5\+ years of experience in **software development** with backend, data models, and APIs in a SaaS environment. * 5\+ years of hands\-on experience in **Python**. * Experience with **relational databases** (PostgreSQL, MySQL). * Experience developing **scalable REST APIs**. * Experience with **AWS or other cloud services** is a plus. * Knowledge of development tools and **unit testing**. * Experience working in **fullstack teams** is a plus. * Ability to work **collaboratively and independently**, with attention to quality and timely delivery. **Benefits:** * Agile and collaborative work environment. * Opportunity to work on challenging projects with cutting\-edge technology. * Continuous learning and professional growth opportunities.
