Java Developer

QAT Global, a US\-based IT consulting firm with over 30 years of experience, is looking for a **Java Developer** to join our international team. We deliver world\-class technology solutions with teams across the US, Costa Rica, and Brazil. This is a **full\-time, remote position** (CLT hire in Brazil only), offering the opportunity to collaborate directly with our **US\-based client** and distributed development teams. **About the Role:** As a **Java Developer** , you will work on the design, development, and maintenance of Java\-based applications that support key business functions. A strong command of **Java 8** and hands\-on experience with the **ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)** are essential for this role, as you will be deeply involved in log validation, performance optimization, and application stability. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in an agile, collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges across multiple applications. **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop, maintain, and enhance **Java 8** applications using **Spring Framework** (Spring 4\.1\.3 and Spring Security 3\.2\.5\). * Lead and participate in **application migration projects** , with a focus on optimizing and validating **logs in ELK** . * Implement and fine\-tune **Elasticsearch** indexing, querying, and data retrieval for high\-performance applications. * Maintain and enhance front\-end components using **JSP, jQuery, and AngularJS** . * Configure and deploy applications on **Tomcat servers** , ensuring reliability outside OpenShift environments. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to manage approximately **40 applications** , maintaining stability and version consistency. * Utilize **Azure DevOps** templates for CI/CD pipelines. * Implement and maintain **automated smoke tests** for proactive issue detection. **Required Qualifications:** * **Expert\-level experience with Java 8** and **Spring Frameworks** (Spring 4\.1\.3, Spring Security 3\.2\.5\). * Proven expertise working with the **ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)** for log management, validation, and performance analysis. * Strong understanding of **Tomcat server configuration** and deployments. * Experience developing scalable applications with **Spring Boot 1\.5\.x** . * Familiarity with **Azure DevOps** and **automated testing frameworks** . * Solid knowledge of **UI frameworks** (JSP, jQuery, AngularJS). * Excellent problem\-solving skills, particularly in debugging, log validation, and application migration. * Strong English communication skills and ability to work effectively in distributed teams. * Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science** , **Information Technology** , or related field (or equivalent experience). **Preferred Qualifications:** * BS/MS in **Systems Analysis and Development** , **Computer Science** , or **Computer Engineering** . * Additional experience in **client\-facing roles** or international projects.
